NASA is preparing to launch a four-person crew to the moon for the first time in more than half a century.
The NASA astronauts include Americans Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, along with Canadian Jeremy Hansen. Glover will become the first person of color, Koch the first woman, and Hansen the first non-American to travel around the moon.
This would be the second flight of the new space launch system and the first crewed spacecraft to head near the moon since 1972.
The Artemis II mission has already faced some lengthy delays, the latest coming after this weekend’s winter storm canceled a full dress rehearsal on Saturday. That is now scheduled for Monday.
