Police foil attempt to smuggle 138,000 narcotic pills
The Public Security Directorate’s spokesperson said that the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) dealt with two separate drug smuggling cases, seizing 118,000 narcotic pills in the first case and 20,000 pills in the second.
In the first case, the Anti-Narcotics Department received information indicating the presence of a large quantity of narcotics inside the Syrian-Jordanian free zone. Search operations were carried out in the area, where a vehicle tire was located. Upon inspection, 118,000 narcotic pills were found concealed inside it. An investigation was launched to identify and apprehend those involved.
In the second case, information was received that unknown individuals had hidden a quantity of narcotic pills in a northern desert area. Search teams were deployed, and after combing the reported location, a discarded vehicle engine was found. Upon inspection, 20,000 narcotic pills were discovered hidden inside it. Investigations are ongoing to identify those involved in the case.
