Cabinet decides to retire JSMO Director General Abeer Zuhair
The Cabinet, in its session held on Wednesday, chaired by Dr. Jafar Hassan, decided to retire Director General of the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO), Abeer Zuhair.
This decision came after the deaths of more than 10 people due to a type of heater commonly known in Jordan as a 'shamousa,' which sparked considerable controversy, led to its withdrawal from Jordanian markets, and a ban on its sale.
Following the incident, members of parliament called for the resignation of the Minister of Industry and Trade and the JSMO's Director General.
