Pakistan's Investment Minister participates in Invest in Digital Economy Forum
Qaiser Ahmed Shaikh, Federal Minister, Board of Investment visited Jordan to attend the second edition of the “Invest in Digital Economy Forum” held in Amman on 22 September 2025.
The event was jointly organized by the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development in collaboration with the Jordan Chamber of Commerce under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The honourable Federal Minister for Investment participated in the Ministerial Session entitled “Governmental Visions and Strategies to support the Global Digital Economy” during the event. At this occasion, the Federal Minister, Board of Investment highlighted the different investment opportunities offered by Pakistan as well as Government of Pakistan’s recent efforts aimed at facilitating foreign investors.
On the sidelines of the above event, the honourable Federal Minister, Board of Investment, Mr. Qaiser Ahmed Shaikh also held important bilateral meetings. He was accompanied by Major General Muhammad Ajmal Iqbal HI (M) (Retd), Ambassador of Pakistan to Jordan as well as Mr. Saad Ahmad Khattak, Trade and Investment Attache, Embassy of Pakistan in Amman during these engagements.
As part of his above bilateral engagements, Mr. Qaiser Ahmed Shaikh, Federal Minister, Board of Investment met Dr. Tareq Ali Abu Ghazaleh, Minister of Investment, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. During the meeting, both leaders expressed keen interest in exploring bilateral collaboration between Pakistan and Jordan for enhanced investment opportunities in the domain of digital economies of the two brotherly countries.
Federal Minister, Board of Investment also held a meeting with Mr. Yousef Hasan Khalawi, Secretary General of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development, on the margins of the above Forum. The honourable Federal Minister appreciated the role of Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development in strengthening closer collaboration in the field of trade, commerce, information technology, insurance/reinsurance, shipping, banking, promotion of investment opportunities and joint ventures in the Member countries. He also invited ICCD to explore mutual collaborative projects for promoting investment opportunities in Pakistan, especially in the domain of Digital Economy. The honourable Federal Minister invited ICCD to specifically explore Investment opportunities in Pakistan.
On the margins of the event, Federal Minister, Board of Investment also held meeting with senior leadership of Amman Chamber of Commerce, during which different avenues of possible collaboration between Jordan and Pakistan were discussed.
