The Turkish Ministry of Tourism revealed a 15.14% decline in Jordanian tourists to Turkey during the first half of 2025, compared to the same period in 2024.
Data from the ministry indicates that 110,037 Jordanians visited Turkey from the beginning of this year until the end of June, compared to 129,667 Jordanians who visited Turkey during the same period last year, 154,121 tourists in the first half of 2023, and 179,018 Jordanian tourists in 2022.
On a monthly basis, Jordanian tourism to Turkey last June decreased by 33.34% compared to the same month last year.
The ministry also recorded 30,701 Jordanian tourists in June, compared to 46,053 tourists in the same month last year and approximately 54,000 tourists in June 2023.
The timeline of the figures shows that the number of Jordanians arriving in Turkey has decreased since 2023, reflecting a continuous decline in demand for the Turkish destination over the past three years.
Tourism expert and former spokesperson for the Jordan Travel Agents Association, Rafeh Tahat, confirmed that the number of Jordanian tourists traveling to Turkey witnessed a significant decline during the first half of 2025 and 2024 compared to previous years, attributing this to the significant increase in travel costs there.
Tahat explained that prices in Turkey have risen significantly, particularly in the costs of hotels, food, drinks, and shopping, making the cost of the trip more than double the capacity of many Jordanian families.
Data released by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) indicate that Jordanians' spending on tourism abroad increased by 4.0% during the first seven months of 2025, reaching $1,247.1 million ($1.2 billion).
July 2025 recorded a 7.0% increase in tourism spending, reaching $247.4 million, according to the data.
