Tax Department to disburse JD22mln in refunds for 2023 and earlier
The Income and Sales Tax Department will begin disbursing fully audited and deposited income tax refunds to the treasury starting Wednesday, for two weeks. These refunds, which are related to the fiscal year 2023 and earlier, are distributed to eligible taxpayers, including employees, users, individuals, and companies.
In a press release, the department explained that the value of the refunds it will disburse over the next two weeks is approximately JD22 million, covering employees, users, individuals, and companies, and is related to the year 2023 and earlier.
This comes in continuation of Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan's directives issued in March to disburse rebates related to previous years, which amounted to JD26 million.
The department will send daily, for two weeks, text messages to the taxpayers entitled to these refunds on their phones that have been installed on the department’s electronic system, informing them of the payment of the refund and its transfer to their approved bank account according to the IBAN number they entered.
The payment process will continue until the end of August.
