Jordanian products to Syria are exempt from customs duties, Ministry says
Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, Dana Zoubi, said that Jordan exports Jordanian products to Syria with 'zero customs tariff.'
Jordan has sent about 2,500 trucks to Syria since December 16, 2024 until now, divided into 600 trucks during the second half of December 2024 until the beginning of 2025, and 1,200 trucks since the beginning of 2025 until now through the Jaber border crossing with Syria, in addition to 700 trucks through the Jordanian-Syrian Free Zone Company, Zoubi added.
Zoubi told Al-Mamlaka channel that Jordanian exports to Syria amount to about 200 trucks per day.
She pointed out that 50% of Jordanian exports to Syria since the fall of the Assad regime are construction 'cement'.
The levels of trade exchange between Jordan and Syria were 'very high' before 2011, exceeding $500 million, then began to decline until 2016, when it fell to $100 million, of which $70 million were exports, and continued to decline until 2024, Zoubi indicated.
Jordan granted 250 Syrian investors 'Jordanian citizenship,' she stated.
