Unstable weather forecast to bring rain over weekend


AMMONNEWS - Unstable weather conditions are forecast on Friday, creating cloudy skies and with showers across many parts of the Kingdom, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.

Later at night, the JMD expects heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder, lightening and hail at times, causing floods in valleys and low-lying lands. Winds will be southeasterly moderate to brisk at times mainly in the eastern parts of the Kingdom, the JMD added.

Similar weather conditions are expected on Saturday, and the weather will start to stabilize later at night.

Maximum temperatures in Amman for today will reach a high of 21 degrees Celsius and a low of 10. Mercury levels in the northern region will record a high of 20 degrees Celsius, dropping down to 9 degrees, while in the port city of Aqaba, thermometers will stand at 28 degrees Celsius, sliding to 18 degrees at night.
