20-10-2026 03:32 PM

Ammon News - Senate President Faisal Fayez held separate meetings Tuesday with UAE Ambassador Sultan Al Shamsi and Azerbaijani Ambassador Shahin Abdullayev to discuss bilateral cooperation, investment partnerships, and regional developments.

During the meetings, Fayez called for strengthening Jordan's political and economic relations with both countries, expanding investment partnerships, and activating bilateral agreements to advance shared interests.

The talks also addressed regional developments, particularly the Palestinian issue, the Iranian-US-Israeli war, and Iranian attacks on Jordan and Gulf Arab states.

Fayez outlined Jordan's positions on regional conflicts, stressing the need for political solutions consistent with international legitimacy and relevant UN resolutions.

Referring to His Majesty King Abdullah II's address to the United Nations General Assembly, Fayez highlighted the King's condemnation of the war crimes committed by the radical Israeli government against Palestinians.

He reiterated the King's position that developments in the occupied West Bank cannot be separated from those in the Gaza Strip, citing escalating settler violence, land seizures, and settlement expansion, which the King characterized as war crimes and forced displacement.

Fayez also highlighted the King's call for the international community to fulfill its responsibilities by ending the horrific Israeli aggression and holding the Israeli government accountable for the war crimes and massacres, stressing that those responsible must not enjoy impunity.

Regarding the Iranian-US-Israeli war, Fayez stated that Jordan had called for ending the conflict, warning that its repercussions extend beyond the region to the wider international community. He also reaffirmed Jordan's rejection of attacks by Iran and its regional affiliates against the Kingdom and Gulf Arab states.

For their part, the two ambassadors commended King Abdullah II's efforts to promote regional security and stability and expressed their countries' commitment to expanding economic and investment cooperation with Jordan and implementing bilateral agreements.

The diplomats also urged continued coordination on issues of mutual concern, particularly regional developments, and pursuing peaceful solutions to ongoing conflicts.
