Ammon News - The Ministry of Labour announced on Sunday that 2,778 families have exited the National Aid Fund’s support program after their members secured sustainable employment opportunities through the National Employment Programme.
The ministry’s spokesperson, Mohammad Zyoud, said the programme continues to achieve tangible results in boosting the participation of targeted groups in the labour market.
He noted that the total number of subsidised employment contracts reached 61,580, of which 31,565, or 51.2%, were awarded to women, reflecting the programme’s focus on promoting women’s economic empowerment.
Regarding the distribution of beneficiaries and private-sector companies across Jordan’s regions, Zyoud said the Northern Region recorded 21,302 individual beneficiaries and 597 companies, while the Central Region accounted for 34,462 beneficiaries and 985 companies. The Southern Region recorded 5,816 beneficiaries and 289 companies.
He added that the total number of establishments registered under the programme had risen to 3,766, spanning various sectors and economic activities.
On training and capacity building, Zyoud said 53,190 employees had received job skills training, while an additional 11,527 employees had been trained in workplace skills, occupational safety and health in cooperation with the Vocational Training Corporation.
He stressed that these efforts aim to promote sustainable employment and develop the workforce.
As part of efforts to raise awareness of the programme’s services and strengthen links with various sectors, Al-Zyoud said the programme’s management held six awareness activities and meetings in July 2026 across most of Jordan’s governorates.
The activities aimed to expand partnerships, improve young people’s readiness to enter the labour market, and inform them about available employment opportunities and career pathways.
