Ammon News - The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs stated that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque witnessed an escalation in violations by occupation forces and colonists during the month of September.
In a detailed report, the Ministry explained that occupation forces and colonists carried out 26 incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque last month. Meanwhile, occupation authorities banned the call to prayer at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron on 150 separate occasions and completely closed the site for six days under the pretext of Jewish holidays.
The Ministry noted that Al-Aqsa Mosque faced increasing demands from extremist "Temple organizations" to open the site to colonists' incursions on Saturdays—aiming to impose a new reality and cement temporal and spatial division. It also pointed out that colonists organized collective prayers and rituals at the Bab al-Rahma Cemetery, adjacent to the eastern wall; these activities included the blowing of the shofar (ram's horn) over Muslim graves under heavy security guard.
The Ministry emphasized that Talmudic practices within the Al-Aqsa courtyards have intensified—including "epic prostration" (full prostration), public prayers, and prayers for occupation soldiers facing the Dome of the Rock. Simultaneously, occupation forces continued to enforce strict measures and raid the vicinity of the Al-Qibli Prayer Hall and the Dome of the Rock during Friday sermons and prayers in order to restrict and harass worshippers. The occupation continues to keep the eastern entrance of the Ibrahimi Mosque closed and its windows covered with barriers—a measure in place since the beginning of 2025—coinciding with repeated incursions into the site by Israeli ministers.
These attacks have extended to other mosques; colonists set fire to the Imad al-Din Zengi Mosque in Nablus and scrawled racist slogans on its walls, stormed the new Madma Mosque and fired tear gas canisters at worshippers—causing cases of suffocation—and demolished the Al-Du'aisat prayer hall in the Al-Jiftlik area of the Jericho Governorate.
