Ammon News - *New Term Aligns with 2026–2030 Strategy to Advance Investment and Arab Productive Integration

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has officially assumed the presidency of the Union of Arab Chambers for its new term, represented by Abdullah Saleh Kamel, Chairman of the Federation of Saudi Chambers and President of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD). Saudi Arabia succeeds the Republic of Tunisia, in accordance with the Union's alphabetical rotation system.

The Saudi presidency coincides with the rollout of the Union’s 2026–2030 strategy, which aims to deepen Arab economic integration by stimulating joint investment and production, connecting capital with viable opportunities, developing value chains, empowering SMEs, and expanding private sector engagement in shaping Arab economic priorities.

Looking ahead, the Union's strategic focus centers on shared Arab investments, productive integration, food and industrial security, and digital transformation, alongside integrating the Arab business community into regional and global supply chains.

The leadership transition also comes as Saudi Vision 2030 enters its third phase (2026–2030), focusing on accelerated implementation and maximized impact. Backed by sustained public capital spending and the catalytic roles of the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the National Development Fund (NDF) in driving domestic investment, this phase offers a strong economic foundation to broaden regional cross-border investment and industrial partnerships.

Mr. Kamel holds key leadership roles across Saudi, Gulf, and Islamic private sector institutions. In addition to heading the Federation of Saudi Chambers and the ICCD, he serves as First Vice President of the Federation of GCC Chambers for its 24th term (2026–2028). This institutional reach provides the new presidency with broader capacity to align business communities and build cross-regional commercial ties.

Established on December 16, 1951, and headquartered in Beirut, the Union of Arab Chambers operates as a non-governmental regional economic institution dedicated to advancing joint Arab economic cooperation and integration, drawing upon the membership of Arab chambers of commerce and industry, as well as a global network of joint Arab-foreign chambers.
