Ammon News - AMMAN The State Security Court on Thursday handed down sentences against three men accused of drug trafficking using the car of a former lawmaker.
The main suspect in the case was acquitted after the judge dropped all charges against him.
The court, holding its session in the presence of defence lawyers and the four defendants, sentenced one of them to 10 years in jail at hard labour and a fine of JD 5,000 while the car [belonging to a former Parliamentarian] used to transport the drugs into the country was confiscated.
The second and third suspects were given a five-year hard labour prison sentence each after their charge was commuted from importing drugs for trading to the intent of trading in drugs in addition to a JD 3,400 fine.
