Ammon News - The number of incidents involving gunfire at public and private celebrations in Jordan fell to 157 last year, compared with 169 cases in 2024, while two deaths were recorded as a result of such incidents, according to the National Centre for Human Rights.
According to the Centre’s annual report, the number of recorded cases in 2025 decreased by 12, or approximately 7%, compared with the previous year.
Despite the decline in incidents, two deaths were recorded in 2025, involving two males aged 12 and 24. No deaths linked to celebratory gunfire were recorded in 2024.
The Centre called for stronger preventive and regulatory measures, including tighter oversight of firearm possession and use, stricter deterrent penalties, and intensified public awareness campaigns.
