Ammon News - Jordanians celebrate the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad’s birth (Mawlid al-Nabi) every year through official and religious events, as well as the distribution of sweets in a festive public atmosphere.

Today, Tuesday, the 12th of Rabi’ al-Awwal, Jordan joins Arab and Islamic nations in commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad ibn Abdullah (peace be upon him), whom Allah sent as a mercy and guidance to all humanity, calling people to Islam and the worship of God.

A major religious celebration was held on Monday at Al Husseiniya Palace, attended by Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, along with senior officials and religious scholars, in honor of the occasion.

Across the streets and mosques of Amman and other governorates, sweets were distributed and gatherings featuring religious chants and praises of the Prophet were held. Jordanians traditionally exchange greetings, visit relatives, and share special sweets in homes and public spaces to mark the occasion.
