Ammon News - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing will begin maintenance and expansion works on a section of the Amman–Salt Road on Monday evening, covering the stretch from beyond Dababneh Bridge to Umm Al-Naaj Bridge in the direction of Amman.

The works include widening the road, removing asphalt layers from the existing shoulder, and applying an enhanced basalt asphalt mix reinforced with polymers. The project will also include road safety measures such as road markings and the installation of reflective road studs, in accordance with approved technical specifications and standards.

The ministry said the project is part of an integrated program to expand, maintain, and rehabilitate major roads in the central region, aimed at sustaining infrastructure, improving traffic conditions, and enhancing road efficiency and service levels. The initiative is expected to contribute to a safer, more efficient, and sustainable road network.

The ministry added that the works will be carried out in coordination with the Public Security Directorate (PSD) and under a temporary traffic management plan designed to maintain traffic flow and minimize disruptions. All necessary safety measures will be implemented to protect road users and workers at the construction site.

Motorists were urged to exercise caution, follow traffic signs and warning signals in work zones, comply with instructions issued by ministry and public security personnel, and adhere to safe driving practices to ensure their safety and that of workers, while enabling crews to complete the project within the scheduled timeframe.
