Ammon News - Lower House (LH) of Representatives, by a majority vote, approved the draft Professional Work Regulation Law of 2026.

Chaired by Speaker Mazen Qadi, the endorsement came during a session held Wednesday, and attended by Cabinet members.

On August 18, the Senate had returned the draft law to the Lower House after amending Articles 8 and 16.

These amendments aimed to grant individuals with prior experience obtained ahead of the law's enactment the right to receive a professional license without taking exams.

This process is carried out, in accordance with criteria to be determined by regulations issued for this purpose.

The Senate also amended the bill to require "experience" instead of a "practice license" for individuals with experience documents certified by official bodies in other countries for granting a professional license.

The Senate slashed the fine for workers practicing a profession without a license to between JD50-200, while the fine for business owners employing unlicensed workers and suppliers stands at a JD200-500 range.

Training services that violate the law's provisions will be suspended, without impeding implementation of any more severe penalty stipulated by other legislation.

Earlier, the Lower House had passed the bill, as received from the government, containing an article for a fine ranging from JD200-1000.

This penalty targets any individual who violates the law's provisions and the relevant regulations issued accordingly, with the mandatory removal of the irregularity.
