13.8 bounced checks worth JD 88.3 million recorded in July

Ammon News - The value of bounced checks in Jordan declined to JD 88.3 million in July, down from JD 98.9 million in June, according to statistics released by the Jordan Payments and Clearing Company (JoPACC).

According to JoPACC's monthly payment systems report, monitored by "Ammon News", the total number of bounced checks in July reached 13,800 checks, 63.1% were returned for financial reasons, totaling 8,699 checks worth JD 50.9 million, while 36.9% were returned for technical reasons, totaling 5,077 checks worth JD 37.5 million.

The number of circulated checks fell by 4.2% in July to 489,000 checks, with a total value of nearly JD 3.66 billion, compared with 510,000 checks worth JD 3.48 billion in June.

The ratio of returned checks to total circulated checks stood at 2.41% in July, compared with 2.85% in June.

Since the beginning of 2026, total banking transactions have reached 3.44 million transactions, with a combined value of JD 23.39 billion.
