Jordan condemns Israeli violations of Gaza ceasefire

04-08-2026 10:18 AM

Ammon News - Jordan on Tuesday reaffirmed its support for the statement issued by the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, the sisterly State of Qatar, and the sisterly Republic of Türkiye, in their capacity as mediators in efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza and consolidate stability. The statement condemned the ongoing Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed Jordan's condemnation of these violations, which include attacks on healthcare facilities and the killing of innocent civilians, including children and women.

The ministry’s spokesperson Fouad Al-Majali said that these violations constitute a flagrant breach of international law and international humanitarian law.

Al-Majali stressed the need to halt Israeli attacks and violations and to ensure the unrestricted entry of sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. He also emphasized the need to guarantee full protection for civilians, medical facilities, and humanitarian workers.

Al-Majali added that the international community must assume its responsibilities by exerting pressure on Israel to fulfill its obligations under international law, ensure the implementation of all provisions of the US President’s Gaza plan, and prevent efforts aimed at consolidating stability in Gaza from being undermined, with the goal of achieving a comprehensive de-escalation, a lasting ceasefire, and an end to the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip.
