Ammon News - President of the Senate Faisal Fayez condemned the Iranian attacks targeting Jordan and Gulf states, describing them as malicious and reprehensible acts that constitute a flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter.
In an interview with AlJazeera Net, Fayez said Jordan is facing unprecedented challenges amid the dangerous regional escalation, noting that the Kingdom has become a direct target of Iranian attacks.
According to a Senate statement issued Monday, Fayez affirmed that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, has preserved its security and stability while maintaining that its territory and airspace will not become an arena for regional conflicts or be used to launch aggression against any friendly country.
He said Jordan remains committed to the principles of good neighborliness and non-interference in the internal affairs of other states, stressing that the Kingdom is a country of peace and stability.
Fayez added that, despite these consistent positions, the Iranian regime and its regional allies have targeted Jordan with missiles and drones, posing a threat to the Kingdom's territory and the safety of its citizens.
He stressed that such actions are unacceptable, emphasizing that Jordan will not yield to these challenges and that its sovereignty and national principles remain a red line. He added that the Kingdom will continue to stand firmly against any attempts to undermine its security and stability.
