Ammon News - Hot weather is expected to persist across much of the Kingdom through Tuesday before temperatures begin to ease from Wednesday as the influence of the hot air mass gradually weakens, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

Temperatures on Monday are forecast to remain 3 to 4 degrees Celsius above the seasonal average for early August, bringing hot conditions to most regions. Very hot weather is expected in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, while moderate northwesterly winds are forecast to become active during the afternoon.

The Meteorological Department warned of reduced visibility caused by blowing dust in desert areas and advised the public to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak daytime hours. It also urged against lighting fires in forests and open areas and cautioned against leaving children or older adults inside parked vehicles.

Little change is expected on Tuesday, with hot weather continuing across most parts of the country and very hot conditions persisting in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Moderate northwesterly winds are forecast to become active at intervals, particularly in desert regions.

A slight decline in temperatures is forecast on Wednesday as the hot air mass begins to retreat. Relatively hot conditions are expected across most regions, while the Badia and low-lying areas, including the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, will remain hot under moderate northwesterly winds.

Temperatures are expected to ease further on Thursday, returning to their seasonal averages for this time of year. Mild summer weather is forecast across most regions, although hot conditions are expected to persist in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.

Monday's temperatures are forecast to reach 37 degrees Celsius in East Amman and 35 C in West Amman. Highs are expected to reach 32 C in the northern highlands and 31 C in the Sharah highlands, while the plains are forecast to record 36 C.

The highest temperatures will be concentrated in Jordan's desert and low-elevation regions, with forecasts pointing to 42 C in the Badia and at the Dead Sea, and 43 C in the northern and southern Jordan Valley as well as Aqaba.
