Jordan's new expert bylaw expedites case resolution in courts: Justice Minister

02-08-2026 05:43 PM

Ammon News - Minister of Justice Dr. Bassam Talhouni affirmed the new Judicial Expertise Bylaw for Regular Courts, approved by the Cabinet last week, represents a "significant" step to develop litigation procedures and expedite case resolution.

In a statement Sunday, he said this vision is achieved by expanding the integration of electronic means in judicial expert work and enhancing efficiency of expertise selection and performance monitoring.

Talhouni stated the system allows courts to select qualified experts and assign tasks electronically.

This process also enables experts to submit and file ad hoc reports online, which allows litigants' lawyers to review them immediately and provide written feedback that contributes to sparing time and streamlining procedures, he pointed out.

On its goals, he stated the bylaw features legal provisions to regulate experts' selection and their performance assessment through the competent court and the relevant department that will be established under the system.

He said this step would enhance quality of expert work and improve efficiency of the Kingdom's litigation system.
