Ammon News - The Cabinet of Egypt stated on Thursday, that the fire that affected two ships in Damietta Port on July 29, 2026, was caused by a drone attack.

In a post on Facebook, the cabinet added that the relevant authorities have conducted initial investigations into the incident.

According to the Cabinet, no party has claimed responsibility for the incident, while the relevant authorities are continuing to compete investigations to determine the consequences of the incident, and take the necessary measures to preserve Egypt’s interests and national security.
