Ammon News - The Lower House Committee on Labor, Social Development, and Population, chaired by MP Andre Hawari, on Wednesday approved the Draft Professional Work Regulation Law for 2026, in the presence of Minister of Labor Dr. Nidal Qatamin.
During a committee session, Hawari said the bill represents an "important" step to regulate the Kingdom's vocational work sector by strengthening oversight and inspection processes of vocational training providers and practitioners.
Hawari said this effort would contribute to raising training efficiency, improving the quality of outputs, and meeting the needs of the labor market.
He noted the committee was "keen" to discuss the bill's various articles to achieve its desired goals and strengthen the legislative framework governing the vocational work sector.
For his part, Qatamin stated the draft law aims to create a legislative framework that governs vocational and technical work, provides a "stimulating" work environment, and regulates the practice of professions, which would raise efficiency of training activities and meet needs of the labor market.
As for its goals, he noted the bill aims to reduce haphazard practices by regulating vocational and technical checks, issuing professional licenses, and licensing vocational and technical training service providers.
The regulation, he stated, also seeks to strengthen partnerships with the Kingdom's private sector to update training standards to keep pace with labor market demands.
