Ammon News - The Cabinet, in a session held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, approved the settlement of 663 pending tax disputes to ease pressure on local businesses, stimulate economic activity, and improve the business environment. It also initiated a major public-sector merger, approving the validating reasons for an administrative organization bill to establish the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development.
Serving as the legal and administrative successor to both the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, this single ministry is designed to streamline operations, clear up jurisdictional overlaps, and integrate early, general, vocational, and higher education under one umbrella while fully preserving the job security and benefits of existing employees.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved the validating reasons for an amended regulation governing the Al Hussein Award for Volunteer Work for 2026 to enhance its corporate governance, establish a specialized unit in the Ministry of Youth, and refine the judging system.
Finally, the Cabinet officially passed the 2026 Administrative Organization Regulation for the Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places to modernize its organizational structure and support its administrative units.
