The recent remarks by the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Imad Hijazin, regarding the "Urdunna Jannah" (Jordan is Paradise) program highlight a national vision that deserves appreciation. The initiative has evolved beyond promoting domestic tourism into an important economic and developmental tool that supports local communities, stimulates tourism across all governorates, and showcases Jordan's unique cultural and natural treasures.
As a tourism coordinator who has the privilege of welcoming visitors from around the world—particularly from European countries—I can confidently say that "Jordan is Paradise" is not merely a slogan. It is a reality experienced by everyone who visits this remarkable country.
Jordan is a paradise because of its rich history, ancient civilizations, and extraordinary diversity. From the green landscapes and archaeological treasures of the north to the breathtaking city of Petra, the majestic desert of Wadi Rum, and the beautiful shores of Aqaba in the south, and from the eastern desert to the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea in the west, visitors discover a country where history, nature, and culture blend into an unforgettable experience.
What makes Jordan even more exceptional is the sense of security, stability, and peace it offers under the wise Hashemite leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II. In a region facing many challenges, Jordan remains a symbol of safety and moderation, making it one of the most trusted destinations for international travelers.
Equally important is the hospitality of the Jordanian people. Their generosity, kindness, and genuine respect for guests leave a lasting impression on every visitor. Throughout my experience accompanying international groups, especially European tourists, I have often heard that what impressed them most was not only Jordan's magnificent heritage sites but also the warmth and sincerity of its people.
The new enhancements announced for the "Jordan is Paradise" program, including allowing participants to travel using their private vehicles and expanding eligibility to Arab and international students residing in Jordan, represent important steps toward making tourism more accessible while encouraging more people to discover the Kingdom.
Jordan possesses every ingredient of a world-class tourist destination: an extraordinary history, breathtaking landscapes, religious and cultural heritage, political stability, and unmatched hospitality. It is our shared responsibility to promote this beautiful image to the world and serve as ambassadors for our homeland.
Through my work with visitors from across the globe, I have learned that the strongest advertisement for Jordan is the experience itself. Every traveler who leaves Jordan takes home unforgettable memories and becomes an ambassador who encourages others to visit this extraordinary country.
Jordan is truly a paradise—not only by name, but through its history, civilization, breathtaking landscapes, safety, wise leadership, and the generosity of its people.
