Ammon News - U.S. Central Command announced a new round of strikes against Iran on Tuesday evening, hitting dozens of military targets near the Strait of Hormuz and Iranian coastal areas.
"U.S. fighter aircraft, drones, and naval vessels launched precision munitions against Iranian missile and drone sites, naval capabilities, and coastal defense systems during the seven-hour wave to further degrade Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping and civilian crews," CENTCOM said on X.
"The strikes took place the same day U.S. forces resumed the naval blockade against vessels transiting to or from Iranian ports and coastal areas. The blockade went into effect at 4 p.m. ET today," the post continued.
U.S. forces remain "vigilant, lethal, and prepared to execute operations directed by the Commander in Chief," CENTCOM said.
On Tuesday, Iran said that the announced resumption of the US naval blockade of its ports has wrecked a deal struck with Washington to pause the conflict to allow peace talks.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said US President Donald Trump’s decision to renew the blockade “has, in a way, dismantled the Islamabad memorandum.”
Speaking in an interview on Fox News, president Donald Trump said that strikes will continue on Iran until “I say it’s enough”.
“They [Iran] have some fight left but they don’t have much,” Trump added.
