Ammon News - Senate President Faisal Fayez on Tuesday met Mexican Ambassador Jacob Prado González to discuss relations and ways to strengthen cooperation across various fields.
The meeting also covered regional developments, including the Iranian-U.S.-Israeli war and its repercussions for regional security and stability.
Fayez reaffirmed Jordan’s rejection of Iranian attacks on Jordan and Gulf Arab states. He said His Majesty King Abdullah II, through diplomatic efforts at regional and international levels, has called for an end to the war and for clear security guarantees for Arab countries in any future settlement with Iran.
Fayez praised the strength of Jordanian-Mexican relations and called for expanding cooperation in economic, investment, and parliamentary fields.
He also reviewed King Abdullah’s efforts to promote peace and stability in the region, including His Majesty’s calls for a political horizon to end Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, resolve the Palestinian issue on the basis of the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions, and push the Israeli occupation to abide by the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and end its aggressive and expansionist policies.
For his part, the Mexican ambassador praised the depth and strength of relations between the two countries and affirmed Mexico’s keenness to advance bilateral ties across various fields in service of their shared interests and regional security and stability.
He also highlighted Jordan’s central role in the region and expressed his country’s appreciation for King Abdullah’s efforts to advance peace and stability.
