23-06-2026 01:57 PM

Ammon News - Dozens of colonists stormed the archaeological site in the town of Sebastia, northwest of Nablus, on Tuesday, under heavy protection from Israeli forces.

Sebastia Mayor Muhammad Azem said that dozens of colonists stormed the archaeological site in the town, amid a heavy deployment of the occupation army in the area to secure the incursion.

In a related development, Israeli forces stormed the city of Nablus and deployed around the Old City and the commercial market.

Several Israeli military patrols stormed the area, accompanied by infantry units that deployed extensively around the Old City and the markets, without any arrests being reported.

The town of Sebastia has been subjected to frequent incursions carried out by colonists and occupation forces, especially in the archaeological area, as part of attempts to seize control of the historical site and erase its Palestinian identity.

The city of Nablus also witnesses almost daily incursions by occupation forces, including raids and military deployments in the city's neighborhoods and its Old City.
