Ammon News - No transit or service fees will be imposed on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz during the current 60-day period, Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said on Sunday.
There will be no fees, whether “transit” or “services” in the Strait of Hormuz, Dar said, referring to arrangements in place as negotiations between the United States and Iran continue.
Dar also revealed that three technical teams are currently involved in negotiations between Washington and Tehran. According to him, the committees are discussing Iran’s nuclear program, frozen Iranian funds and the situation in Lebanon.
The comments come as diplomatic efforts continue to build on an interim agreement between the United States and Iran, with negotiators seeking a broader and more durable settlement to end hostilities and address outstanding disputes.
Dar said Pakistan played a key role in facilitating dialogue between Washington and Tehran, helping bring the two sides together for the first time in 47 years. The foreign minister added that Islamabad worked with regional and international partners to support mediation efforts and help ensure the success of the talks.
