Gaza death toll rises to 72,971 since October 2023, medical sources say

Ammon News - The death toll from the ongoing Israeli military aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to 72,971 Palestinians, with 173,128 others injured, since October 7, 2023, medical sources in the territory said on Sunday.

According to the sources, hospitals across Gaza received 10 fatalities and 36 wounded people during the past 48 hours.

Local health authorities reported that since the start of the ceasefire announced on October 11, 2025, the number of Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks has reached 961, while 3,020 others have been injured. Medical and rescue teams have also recovered 782 bodies during the same period.

The sources noted that an unknown number of victims remain trapped under rubble or in areas inaccessible to rescue crews, amid ongoing difficulties faced by emergency and civil defense teams attempting to reach them.
