PSD launches nationwide "Safe Summer 2026" public safety campaign

12-05-2026 02:46 PM

Ammon News - The Public Security Directorate (PSD) has launched a nationwide summer safety campaign aimed at reducing seasonal accidents and strengthening preventive awareness as temperatures rise across the kingdom.

The "Safe Summer 2026" initiative, launched Tuesday, forms part of the directorate’s broader efforts to enhance public safety systems and promote community-based prevention measures during the summer season.

According to the directorate, the campaign includes an integrated security and awareness plan designed to protect citizens and visitors while limiting accidents and risky behavior that tend to increase during summer months.

Specialized departments have begun implementing field operations, awareness programs, and monitoring activities across Jordan’s governorates to encourage preventive practices, reinforce public responsibility, and safeguard environmental and public safety standards.

The campaign focuses on raising awareness about risks associated with the summer season, particularly drowning incidents, wildfires affecting forests and agricultural areas, heatwave-related hazards, and unsafe practices at water bodies, parks, and recreational sites.

The Public Security Directorate urged citizens and visitors to follow safety instructions issued by relevant authorities and cooperate with security personnel to help prevent accidents and maintain public safety.

Officials stressed that prevention remains a shared responsibility requiring stronger public awareness and responsible behavior to ensure a safer summer season throughout the kingdom.
