Labor ministry handled 15 worker disputes in Q1 2026

Ammon News - The Ministry of Labor announced it dealt with 15 labor disputes in the first quarter of this year.

All cases were resolved except 4, in accordance with the dispute resolution procedures outlined in the Labor Law.

Two of the 4 pending disputes are currently under conciliation, while the other 2 are examined by the Labor Court.

In remarks to 'Petra" on Saturday, Adnan Dahamsheh, Director of the Ministry's Labor Relations Directorate, said the ministry oversaw the signing ceremonies of 11 collective bargaining agreements.

He noted the deals were due to cooperation between the administration of private sector institutions and companies and labor unions, aimed to improve employee benefits.

Under these agreements, he announce approximately 29,915 workers benefited from the improved benefits, which the ministry facilitated.

He noted these workers operate in sectors including tourism, hotels, fertilizers, electricity, mining, pharmaceuticals, industry, and telecommunications.

As for the number of employers' syndicates registered with the ministry, he noted the ministry approved the registration of the Nursery Owners Association in the Kingdom, adding that 6 amended bylaws for several other unions were sent to the Ministry.

He said labor disputes go through 4 stages, based on the Labor Law to reach a resolution and reconcile employers and employees in the private sector.
