05-05-2026 11:58 AM

Ammon News - Minister of Government Communication and official government spokesperson, Mohammad Al-Momani, said that Jordan continues its humanitarian role toward Syrian refugees as part of a voluntary return policy aligned with international law, despite challenges and increasing burdens, and within the framework of supporting stability and providing assistance to those in need.

He added that more than 192,000 Syrian refugees registered with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) have voluntarily returned to Syria since the fall of the former regime until today.

During his meeting with UNHCR Representative in Jordan Maria Stavropoulou, Al-Momani reaffirmed the importance of the existing partnership and continued coordination, particularly in the media and communications sector.

Al-Momani stressed that Jordan, under its Hashemite leadership, will remain a model in fulfilling its humanitarian duty toward the issues of its region and refugees, in a way that preserves their dignity and ensures them a safe and decent life.
