Ammon News - Data released by the Jordan Hotels Association (JHA) on hotel sector performance during the Labor Day holiday weekend showed that the Dead Sea recorded the highest occupancy rate among Jordan’s tourist destinations at 84%.
Average hotel occupancy in Amman stood at 22%, compared with 18% in Petra, according to the data.
The figures reflected varying occupancy levels across the Kingdom’s tourism destinations amid continued impacts of regional conditions on travel and aviation, particularly inbound tourism.
The data indicated that the largest share of hotel demand during the period was concentrated in the Dead Sea area, which benefited from strong domestic demand over the holiday and posted the highest occupancy rates among destinations.
Other destinations recorded moderate to low occupancy levels, especially areas more reliant on international tourism, led by Petra.
