Doctor warns against storing medications during crises

19-04-2026 03:19 PM

Ammon News - Dr. Safwan Al Adwan, Consultant Dermatologist and Aesthetic Specialist, warned against storing medications during times of crises and wars, pointing out that many people tend to buy large quantities of medicines during emergencies with the intention of stockpiling them.

In a video shared on social media, Al Adwan said that such practices can lead to medications being damaged due to improper storage. Additionally, this behavior deprives those who truly need these medicines of access to them and opens the door to the emergence of a black market.

He added that this also places a burden on pharmaceutical companies and the government, which then have to secure larger quantities of medicine to ensure their availability in the market.

Al Adwan emphasized that drug security is a shared responsibility of the entire community, calling on people to avoid random and excessive purchasing during crises.
