Ammon News - The Jordan Customs Anti-Smuggling Directorate raided an unlicensed workshop operating within a residential apartment, manufacturing counterfeit cosmetics without the necessary official permits.

Customs officials stated that the workshop lacked even the most basic health and safety standards. They discovered the use of raw materials of unknown origin and seized quantities of counterfeit packaging and finished products ready for distribution in the market, posing a direct threat to public health and safety.

Coordination with the Food and Drug Administration is underway to take the necessary legal measures in accordance with established procedures.

The Jordanian Customs Department affirmed that its personnel, through joint national efforts and close cooperation with various relevant regulatory bodies, are working diligently to combat all forms of smuggling and illicit manufacturing, given their negative impact on the national economy and public health.

The Jordanian Customs Department urges citizens to cooperate and report any practices or violations that could harm the national economy or public health by calling the free number (105) of the Anti-Smuggling Operations Center.
