Israel intercepts Iranian missile attack after Trump's speech

02-04-2026 09:30 AM

Ammon News - Israel's military said air defences responded to three waves of Iranian missile fire early Thursday, with media reporting several light injuries in the Tel Aviv area.

The third reported salvo came shortly after US President Donald Trump delivered an address to the American public about the Middle East war.

After the first attack, police said officers were called to “several” impact sites in central Israel, with media reports putting the number at nine.

Four people were lightly wounded, the reports said, citing medics.

Within just over three hours of the first attack, the military announced it had again “identified missiles launched from Iran toward the territory of the State of Israel”, triggering air raid sirens across much of northern and central Israel.

After Trump's address, a spokesperson for the unified command of Iran's armed forces has warned the US and Israel of "more crushing, broader and destructive actions".

U.S. President Donald Trump said US forces would keep hitting Iran "very hard" in the next two or three weeks and bring the country "back to the Stone Ages" in a televised address on Wednesday night, even as he argued that Washington had accomplished its goals but offered no clear timeline for ending the monthlong war.

Trump said US forces will “finish the job” in Iran soon as “core strategic objectives are nearing completion,” offering a full-throated defence of the war Wednesday night in his first national address since the conflict began more than a month ago.
