Traffic accidents drop 52% during Eid holiday

24-03-2026 11:16 AM

Ammon News - A traffic operations officer confirmed that the number of accidents during the Eid holiday decreased compared to the same period in 2025.

According to an analytical study, accidents—both in terms of human injuries and property damage—dropped by 52% , reflecting increased awareness and compliance by drivers and citizens with safe driving practices emphasized through ongoing public awareness campaigns.

The officer noted that some traffic accidents still occurred during the Eid holiday, mainly due to violations such as speeding, improper handling of curves, and incorrect lane usage.

Meanwhile, the external patrol operations officer stated that all main roads experienced active traffic and that patrols were deployed across all routes from early morning to ensure smooth traffic flow and safe arrival of citizens at their destinations.

He added that a special traffic plan was implemented during the holiday, focusing on several key areas: enhanced traffic monitoring on all main roads, intensified public awareness campaigns, and providing humanitarian assistance to those in need.
