23-03-2026 09:30 AM

Ammon News - Relatively cool and partly cloudy conditions are expected across much of the Kingdom on Monday, while warmer weather will prevail in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department, there is a chance of light, scattered showers around midday. Winds will be moderate southeasterly, shifting to southwesterly in the evening.

The department warned of reduced horizontal visibility during the morning hours due to fog over high mountainous areas and parts of the plains, as well as the danger of slippery roads in areas experiencing rainfall.

On Tuesday, conditions will remain relatively cool and partly to mostly cloudy across most regions, with continued warmer weather in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Light, scattered showers are again possible around midday, with moderate southwesterly winds.

By Wednesday, similar conditions will persist initially, but the Kingdom is expected to gradually come under the impact of atmospheric instability. Cloud cover will increase, and intermittent rainfall is forecast in various areas, particularly in southern and eastern regions, potentially accompanied by thunder. Winds will be moderate southwesterly, occasionally becoming active.

A significant drop in temperatures is forecast for Thursday, bringing very cold conditions to high mountainous areas and cold weather elsewhere. The weather will turn cloudy and rainy, with heavy rainfall at times, especially in western parts of the Kingdom.

Thunderstorms and hail are also expected, raising the risk of flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas. Winds will be strong westerly, with gusts exceeding 60 km/h in some areas.

Temperatures in the capital Amman will range bewteen a high of 13 degrees Celsius, and a low of 5 degrees.

Highs in the port city of Aqaba will reach 25 degrees Celsius during the day, sliding to 15 degrees at night. Petra
