04-03-2026 11:26 AM

Ammon News - The government moved to assess the resilience of Jordan's supply and energy systems as Prime Minister Jafar Hassan chaired a meeting on Wednesday with ministers and senior officials to review contingency plans related to strategic reserves, supply chains and energy security amid the current regional conditions.

During the meeting, ministers and relevant officials presented sector-specific plans and operational measures designed to manage potential spillovers from regional developments and maintain a high level of institutional readiness.

Officials affirmed that Jordan’s strategic reserves of food, essential commodities and energy remain secure, diversified and sufficient to meet domestic demand. They added that the government continues to activate multiple supply alternatives and logistical options to safeguard the continuity of supply chains and mitigate potential disruptions, in coordination with the private sector.

The review comes as authorities intensify monitoring of supply flows and strategic inventories to ensure market stability and uninterrupted access to key commodities and energy resources under evolving regional circumstances.

The meeting was attended by the ministers of water and irrigation, transport, government communication, energy and mineral resources, industry, trade and supply, education and higher education and scientific research, interior, planning and international cooperation, labor, finance and investment.
