Ammon News - Cold weather is expected to continue across most regions on Wednesday and Thursday before temperatures rise slightly on Friday, bringing milder conditions in many areas, the Jordan Meteorological Department said.

Wednesday’s weather is forecast to remain relatively cold across most regions, while the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba will experience milder temperatures.

Clouds are expected at various altitudes, with a weak chance of light showers during the evening in limited parts of northern areas and the northeastern Badia. Northwesterly winds are expected to blow at moderate speeds, becoming active at times and raising dust, particularly in eastern regions.

The department warned of frost formation during early morning hours over mountainous areas and parts of the Badia and plains. Reduced visibility due to blowing dust is also possible at times, especially in eastern regions. Motorists were also advised to exercise caution on roads that may become slippery in areas experiencing rainfall.

Conditions are expected to remain relatively cold on Thursday, with low cloud cover and moderate northwesterly winds prevailing across most regions.

Temperatures are forecast to rise slightly on Friday, bringing pleasant conditions to most regions and relatively warm weather in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Southeasterly winds are expected to shift to northwesterly during the afternoon.

A slight drop in temperatures is expected again on Saturday, with relatively cold conditions returning across most regions while low-lying areas remain milder under partly cloudy skies and moderate northwesterly winds.

For Wednesday, temperatures in eastern Amman are expected to range between 16 C and 5 C, compared with 14 C and 4 C in western Amman. The northern highlands are forecast to record between 13 C and 3 C, while the Sharah highlands may drop to 1 C overnight. Aqaba is expected to record highs of 23 C and lows of 11 C. Petra
