Ammon News - The Eastern Military Zone thwarted early Sunday morning ten attempts to smuggle large quantities of narcotics loaded with electronically guided balloons launched simultaneously to distract border guard units and evade surveillance.

Border Guard units detected the attempt and intercepted the balloons, bringing them down along with their cargo inside Jordanian territory, in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department.

The seized materials were referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures.
