Ammon News - Jordanian driver Nayef Abu Tayah is set to launch his 2026 season at the Wadi Al-Qamar Navigation Rally, taking place in southern Jordan from February 12–14, 2026. The event stands as one of the Kingdom’s premier desert motorsport challenges, blending endurance, precision navigation, and the raw spirit of adventure.

This appearance follows Abu Tayah’s strong 2025 campaign in the European BMW 318Ti Cup, where he competed on international circuits across Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Throughout the season, he left a clear mark among elite drivers and proudly carried the Jordanian flag into multiple podiums.

Speaking ahead of the rally, Abu Tayah described 2025 as a pivotal chapter in his career. Beginning 2026 on home soil, he said, carries special meaning. He will compete in a Defender alongside co-driver Waled Shabsogh , with support from Mahmoudia Motors and the Defender Jordan team. He expressed optimism that the rally will mark a strong and successful start to the new season.

The Wadi Al-Qamar Rally is a highlight of the internationally recognized Baja Jordan program. It is known for its demanding desert terrain stretching from Aqaba to Wadi Rum, combining competitive spirit with the technical challenge of off-road navigation in rugged, sandy landscapes. The rally attracts motorsport enthusiasts and adventure seekers from both Jordan and abroad.

Having already built a growing reputation through two successful editions, the Wadi Al-Qamar Rally continues to expand in participation and prestige. It is celebrated for delivering a uniquely immersive desert racing experience — where skill, resilience, and the thrill of exploration meet the vast beauty of Jordan’s southern wilderness.
