Ammon News - The Public Security Directorate (PSD) warned of a low-pressure system expected to affect the Kingdom on Wednesday, bringing a drop in temperatures and scattered showers in the north, extending to the central, eastern, and southwestern regions. These showers may be heavy for short periods and accompanied by thunder and hail, according to weather reports issued by the relevant authorities.
The PSD urged the citizens to take necessary precautions, adopt safe behavior, and avoid valleys, areas prone to flash floods, and low-lying areas, especially in the north and center of the Kingdom. It also stressed the importance of not attempting to cross water accumulations, whether on foot or in vehicles.
Further, the PSD emphasized the need for cautious driving on roads that may experience rainfall and exercising caution due to reduced horizontal visibility caused by fog over mountainous areas and dust in desert regions and on desert roads.
It also advised caution due to strong winds and gusts and the necessity of securing loose objects.
In addition, it emphasized the importance of using all types of heating appliances safely and correctly, including not refueling them while they are lit, turning them off before going to sleep, ensuring adequate and continuous ventilation in homes, and avoiding the use of wood-burning stoves due to their negative effects, which can lead to cases of suffocation.
The Public Security Directorate confirmed the readiness of all personnel to handle various incidents and stressed the importance of contacting the unified emergency number 911 if needed.
