Ajloun Castle records more than 336,000 visits in 2025

Ammon News - The number of visitors to Ajloun Castle reached 336,559 in 2025, according to official figures issued by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

Data reviewed by Al-Mamlaka TV showed that Jordanian visitors made up the majority, accounting for 72.6% of the total, or 244,193 visitors. Foreign tourists ranked second with 19% (63,484 visitors), while Arab visitors came third at 8.4% (28,882 visitors).

In comparison, Ajloun Castle recorded about 351,000 visitors in 2024, and nearly 468,402 visitors in 2023, indicating a decline of approximately 4.3% between 2024 and 2025.

The ministry clarified that the statistics include repeat visits by both domestic and international tourists to various sites.

According to the Ministry of Interior, Ajloun is rich in archaeological and tourist landmarks, most notably Ajloun Castle (Qal’at Al-Rabad), which dates back to 1184 AD.

The governorate also features several attractions, including the Ajloun Nature Reserve, Wadi Kufranja (Wadi Al-Tawahin)*, and other heritage sites.

Ajloun is home to important religious landmarks as well, such as the Church of Mar Elias and the Church of Our Lady of the Mountain, both dating to around the 4th century AD, in addition to several other shrines.

Moreover, the Ajloun Cable Car was officially inaugurated in June 2023, after construction began in *May 2020, further enhancing the region’s tourism infrastructure.
