iPhone Air 2 may launch in 2026 with minimal upgrades

Apple plans to launch the iPhone Air 2 in the fall of this year, according (source in Chinese) to Weibo leaker Fixed Focus Digital, which has already made the same claim late last year. That’s in stark contradiction with several other reports that claim the second-generation iPhone Air has been delayed until 2027.

Not only will the upcoming super-slim iPhone launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and the rumored iPhone Fold, but it will also feature “very minor changes.” The leaker claims the new device will be “a routine upgrade,” further contradicting earlier reports of a redesign.

Conflicting rumors

Reports from last November claimed that Apple would delay the iPhone Air 2 until 2027 and use the extra time to address some of the most glaring issues of the original. Later, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said that Apple never planned the Air to be an annual release, which is why it didn’t have a number in its name.
