Israel bans Canadian MPs from entering West Bank via Jordan

17-12-2025 01:42 PM

Ammon News - Israeli authorities on Tuesday prevented a 30-member Canadian delegation, including six MPs, from entering the West Bank from Jordan via the King Hussein Bridge/Karameh Crossing.

According to the Hebrew newspaper Ynet, the Israeli embassy in Canada explained that the delegation was denied entry due to its ties to Islamic Relief Worldwide, a non-governmental organization designated as a terrorist organization in Israel.

The Canadian embassy clarified that the delegation's visit to Israel was sponsored by the organization "Voice of Canadian Muslims," which receives most of its funding from "Islamic Aid Canada," a branch of Islamic Relief Worldwide, designated as a terrorist organization in Israel.

The embassy also confirmed that "Israel will not allow entry to organizations and individuals associated with designated terrorist entities."

Following the incident, Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand stated that her country "objects to the mistreatment of its citizens."

Ontario MP Iqra Khalid, from the Liberal Party led by Prime Minister Mark Carney, said she was part of the delegation and alleged that border guards repeatedly pushed her to prevent her entry at the Allenby Bridge crossing.
