Ammon News - During his meeting with His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein at Al-Husseiniya Palace on Monday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed doubling the volume of trade between India and Jordan to $5 billion over the next five years.
According to the Indian Prime Minister's official website, this proposal was made as part of an agreement between the two countries to significantly expand economic, strategic, and cultural cooperation during his visit to Amman.
India is Jordan's third-largest trading partner, with bilateral trade reaching $2.88 billion in 2023-2024, of which Indian exports amounted to $1.47 billion.
Jordan exports fertilizers and phosphates to India, while importing electrical machinery, grains, frozen meat, chemicals, petroleum products, and auto parts.
