Ammon News - A food aid convoy dispatched by the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) arrived in Yemen on Saturday as part of Jordan’s ongoing humanitarian efforts to alleviate the difficult living conditions facing the Yemeni people.

The convoy comprised 13 trucks carrying 54,600 food parcels, which were delivered overland through Saudi territory to the competent authorities for distribution to affected communities, helping meet basic needs in most affected areas.

JAF said the convoy was sent in implementation of directives from His Majesty King Abdullah II, JAF Supreme Commander, and reflects Jordan’s longstanding commitment to supporting other nations and standing by them during humanitarian circumstances.

Yemeni authorities expressed their appreciation and gratitude to Jordan and its people, for the humanitarian initiative, noting that it underscores the depth of relations between the two countries and contributes to easing the suffering of citizens.

The aid convoy departed Jordan last Tuesday after all technical and logistical arrangements were completed in coordination with relevant authorities to ensure its smooth delivery to beneficiaries in Yemen.
